On September 28, 2012 Michelle suffered an Amniotic Fluid Embolism (AFE) during the birth of her second child, Piper. Like many families, Michelle turned to the Amniotic Fluid Embolism Foundation to seek answers and support. An event planner by trade, Michelle and her husband joined forces with a team of amazing friends to coordinate and host the inaugural Tango of the Vines fundraising event to benefit the AFE Foundation just one year after her life-changing experience. With the success of the first event and the welcome response from the community, Tango of the Vines has become a successful annual event held in San Antonio, Texas.
Michelle has over 13 years of experience in planning and executing non-profit fundraising and social events. She currently serves as the Director of Facility Sales and Service for one of the premiere Performing Arts venues in her home town of San Antonio. Michelle mentors college level event management students across the country who are seeking careers in hospitality and tourism, serves on the board for several local professional organizations and has received numerous awards for her dedication and advancement of the events industry.
Michelle is married to an amazing and supportive husband and together they are blessed with two beautiful little girls and two feisty Chihuahua-Dachshund puppies. In her spare time Michelle enjoys traveling, visiting with friends, and cooking; especially grilling in the warm South Texas weather. Michelle is passionate about the AFE Foundation and is dedicated to fulfilling its mission.
